If you are dealing with chronic illness or chronic inflammation issues then I have some crucial news for you.
Have you been eating nuts, seeds, beans or grains? I remember when I started eating healthy I went cuckoo for nuts, seeds, and grains. Quinoa, almonds, cashews, & nut butters were all staples in my diet. I put quinoa in everything...
In fact if you go back a couple years on my YouTube channel you'll see that it (and wild rice) was a staple in all my puddings.
But what I learned soon after that video in May of 2017 was pretty life-changing. I learned about plant lectins, anti-nutrients and the massive importance for people to embark on a lectin-avoidance diet (at least for a while) if they want to reset their immune system.
In nature, all beings want to survive. Humans, animals, plants etc. all want to thrive and live. Even sugar when put into the body wants to replicate (thus people getting food cravings). All energies want to live!
But plants cannot bark, growl, scream, run away, or fight - so they biologically have created anti-nutrients for their replicatory parts. (I don't know if replicatory is a word but I want to use it anyway.) So the way a plant replicates is via the nut, seed, or grain. And if animals eat these in nature, then the plant has a smaller chance in thriving. BUT, what that plant does is sent it's plant toxins (anti-nutrients) to that part and when animals eat these parts they get nauseous, dizzy, & fatigued and have a less chance of surviving in nature. Once an animal feels this way about a food, it will never eat it again.
But us humans are dumb! And we keep eating foods for decades that make us feel like shit. Lectins cause all kinds of immune responses, inflammation, and leaky gut.
So the move is to go on a 60 day minimum lectin avoidance diet. Avoid nuts, seeds, beans, grains, and all nightshade vegetables.
Good foods to eat:
- Eggs (chicken, duck)
- Cornish Hens
- Sweet potatoes – any color
- Daikon radish
- Burdock root
- Romaine lettuce
- Brussel sprouts
- Broccoli sprouts
- Alfalfa and other sprouts
Foods to avoid!
- Processed sugar
- Nightshade vegetables
- Seafood (except sardines and mackerel)
- Processed meats
- Dairy (except butter, ghee, kefir and eggs)
- Whey protein
- All vegetable oils except coconut, avocado, olive
Another thing you can do is take lectin protect to bind to all the lectins that are currently floating around your intestines. And take it when you do eat lectins.
